Laura, I found "WORLDBOOK OF PATAFIOS" I got about 1991ish, and out of 56 pages of bull trying to get me to buy something, 1 page lists what countries we are in and the other 5 pages lists Patafio families by name. There is nothing about ancesters

There is an AUGUST M. PATAFIO, 70 Partridge Cir, Casselberry, Fl 32708.

Also 3 families in Calif, 1 in Conn, 2 in Fla, 1 in Georga, 5 in Jersey, 28 in NY (including LI, Staten Island), 2 in PA, 1 in SC, 11 in Canada, 3 in Australia, 19 in Italy (most in Scalla).

I cannot for the life of me find the coat of arms...must be packed away in the garage...will keep looking.

I send these web pages to my Brother...he may get involved and probably knows alot more than I do...we were much more involved with my Mother's side of the family, much larger and closer knit.

I will keep in touch..

Hi Thomas,

The August Patafio you found was my grandfather. He passed away in 1982.

I'll do some more research today, hopefully I can come up with something. Maybe I can find something on that coat of arms. Most of the stuff I have come across is just fake and an attempt to get you to buy stuff, just like you said.

I'll try and work on that Patafio tree today for you.

Talk to you soon

Ok...as soon as it warms up alittle, I will check in the garage for the coat of arms.
I sent stuff to my Brother, who wrote:

Hey, That was very interesting. I guess that was you posting. I think the papal connection was a Ferretti though. Grandma was a Cuomo and half sister
to Florio Ferretti - that’s the connection

We have Ferretti's on both sides of my family that are not related.

Talk to you soon..

Hi Tom,

I was wondering if you were ever able to locate that copy of the family tree you were searching for. I've tried searching for a Patafio coat of arms but I never could find anything.

With regards to a possible papal connection, I did some research and you were correct about the name. Pope Pius IX referred to himself as "prisoner of the Vatican" after Rome was captured by the armed forces of the Kingdom of Italy in 1870. Someone else here also mentioned a possible connection to a pope and something about "prisoner of the Vatican", as well as a rumored link to the Borgia family. It's an interesting line of research, as I have never heard of such a link but it's always worth checking out.

Well, back to researching!

Hello!

My mother Jenny (Giovanna) Patafio Muto is from Scilla, Calabria. Her father, Salvatore Patafio was Philip Patafio's uncle, who lived in Tuckahoe. Philip's wife's same was Jenny. Do you recall her maiden name? My mother remembers that her sister married a "Vita" from Port Chester, NY. Do you know the contact information of the guy from Canada? We are trying to find our Canadian relatives. Thank you!
