Re: Frederick William Richard Cake and Elsie Emily Dyer Isle of Wight England
Hi Geraldine, Thanks for answering my posting. I am actually a Dyer descendant and Frederick married into my family. Since posting I now have a bit more information on Elsie and Frederick. They were both born in Godshill, Isle of Wight and married on Oct. 19, 1904, Godshill. They had two children Millicent Elsie Ann Cake b. 1905, Newchurch, IOW and Stanley Frederick b. 1909, Newchurch. I have corresponded with a fellow in Australia who's Cakes go back on the Isle of Wight before 1741 Calbourne as of now we can not make a connection between our Cake families. I haven't any further information on my Frederick's family, I wonder if the Isle of Wight Cakes could be connected to your Cakes. Best Wishes, Lorraine

Re: Frederick William Richard Cake and Elsie Emily Dyer Isle of Wight England
I have a Frederick Cake in my tree and I'm wondering if there's a connection. Mine was born in 1882 in Godshill, his parents were Charles H Cake (b1832 Dorset) and Elizabeth J Pearcy (b1825 Dorset). The Cake families around this area have very similar names, but I know that some of their children were Emily, Louisa, Clara Ann, Maria, George Henry and Frederick.

Hi Sharon, I believe our Frederick's are one in the same as I have Frederick's parents as Charles and Elizabeth. I would be grateful for any information on Frederick and Elsie and you are welcome to what I have. Lorraine

Re: Frederick William Richard Cake and Elsie Emily Dyer Isle of Wight England
My Great Grandfather was John Henry Dyer. He was born 1875 on the Isle of Wight, England. His head stone says he was born 1872. He died March 8, 1962, in Michigan. I do know that he had a hook as one of his hands. He and my Great grand mother were divorced. They had 5 children. This is all I know about him.
