Nina,
I was just searching the web site and found your message from a few years ago. My husband's father was also Alberto Carlo Caiati and he was 4 when he passed away. My husband's name is Roberto Carlo Caiati and he was originally from CA. We now live in Allenton, PA and he has two sisters also by Alberto - Adrienne and Tilynn. I hope this helps your search! By the way, we have one daughter, Ariana Caiati and another on the way.

Hello Karen... Ulisse Caiati and his wife Lucia were my great-grandparents on my mother's side - my grandmother had 5 brothers and sisters - one of which was Carlo. I have more info I'd be happy to share with you - as I am trying to put the pieces together myself!! In case anyone in your family enjoys classical music or ballet, Gaetano Merola (founder of S.F. Opera House) was part of this family too...

We are having a family reunion in Fresno on the 20th of August. You can serch the Elis Island web site for the family that came from Italy. The manafest misspelled the last name as Baiati instead of Caiati and my grandfather as lisse insteat of Ulisse. I remember a Nina but I'm not sure where you fit in the tree. I will ask my mom, Mary Caiati Married to Lee or Livio. Hope this is helpfull. Would like to hear from you at the above e-mail address.

Hi - I came across this today and had to tell you that my mother, Ameilia Caiati was the daughter of Giacamo Caiati and Anna - my mom was born in Brooklyn,NY, in 1907. She had 4 sisters and a brother.
They were Louise, Ada, Natalie, Yolanda and William or Bill. They are all deceased. But there are cousins on the Caiati side still on the east coast. My mom and I went to the sf opera every year and my mom told me about my great uncle Merola. Would love to hear from any of you out there.

Hi,

I just stumbled upon this thread, hope this reply goes to everyone and not just the last person to post.

My mother's step-mother, Carmen Fraetis, is Alberto "Carlo" Caiati's sister. I just last night had dinner with her and her brother Caesar (who is soon to turn 101!) in Vancouver, BC. They were about to go on a cruise to Alaska with my parents and aunt and uncle, and Caesar's god-daughter Dania and her husband Gene (from Fresno). Carmen and Caesar are the last surviving children of Ulysse & Lucia Caiati. They live together in San Rafael, CA (Marin Co.).

I was asking them about Carlo (as he was known by our family), and they were telling all kinds of colorful stories about him. I do remember him from when I was quite young, but I never knew him very well as he died when I was 10. I am a composer and artist, so even though I am not a blood relation I have always been interested in Carlo as another kindred spirit in the family, and it was great to have them fill in some of the blanks.

I don't know a lot about Carlo, but I'm happy to share whatever stories I do know with the rest of his family, and would love to hear some stories in return. I'm especially interested in what became of his final wife (Tenchi? I think she was Chinese) and their children. I seem to remember meeting them once.

happy to correspond with you about what I remember about my
father Carlo Caiati....I did inherit a lot of the creativity
of the Caiati clan... amazed to hear my uncle Cezar is still
with us at 101
Mostly I was out of the Caiati family loop at age 18 so I
can only report up to that point...but don't hesitate to
contact me...it will be nice to reconnect with family...
