Hi Collene,
Thanks for the reply. My Cahalin connection is from my great-grandfather, Michael J Hogan who had a brother, William C Hogan who's daughter Margaret married one Patrick J. Cahalin on 11-16-1918 in St. Louis. Patrick was the son of Anthony Cahalin and Mary Boyle. According to Margaret's obituary in June 1950, she had the following children: William. Mary, John and James Cahalin. Margaret had three sisters that survived to have families. They were Agnes Seaver, Catherine Miles, and Genevieve Wardle. There is also a "Jack" Cahalin which I believe is either John or James above.

Colleen Hello,

Do you know when your Cahalin ancestors arrived in America?
Have you any idea which county of Ireland they come from?
Cahalin's are found in Mayo, Roscommon and Galway most commonly in the 1800's. If you can pin point the Irish County you will probably be ale to pick up on your Cahalin line. If you know this information I would be pleased to hear from you I know of several lines from my own research.

Patrick J Cahalin was from Mayo, he was wed to Margaret Hogan, daughter of William C Hogan and Mary Jane O'Connor. Mary was from St Louis and William from Tipperary. Patrick's parents were Anthony Cahalin and Mary Boyle. I am interested in their decendants which I have found some in St Louis and their connection to my great grandfather, Michael J Hogan who was brother to the above William.

Heather,

My great grand mother, Mary A. Cahalin came to St. Louis in 1881, from Co. Mayo, either from Ballinrobe or Ballindine, or possibly Claremorris. She was born in Feb 1867, married Thos. Craddock in St. Louis around 1892, had three children, Marquerite, William, and Mary. All died except Marguerite, my grand mother. Mary A. Cahalin had four brothers, Michael, Anthony, John, and Patrick R. Cahalin.

If you have any info on this family, please let me know.

My Cahalins seem very close to yours. I have an Anthony Cahalin born abt. 1868 Ireland, married to a Mary Boyle. Anthony died May 1929. Their children include a Patrick Joseph born abt. 1886, died May 1977. He was married to Mary Margaret or Margaret Mary Hogan, daughter of William C Hogan and Mary Jane O'Connor. Their children include James, John, and Mary Margaret Cahalin. I have not done extensive research on this line, but know Cahalins who have. They are still in St. Louis today.
