I too may be a distant cousin. My line is the Dennis O'Connell/Margaret Murphy line from Edencurra. My Grandmother was Annah Cecelia O'Connell who came to the US in the early 20's. She was one of 15 siblings.

Hello Susan,
I'm pretty sure that you are a (very) distant cousin...based on information that you have posted on this message board, as well as info that I received from Alice Hayes about the Cahalane family from Edencurra.
I tried to reach you last year at your state.vt.us email address, but no luck.
Please contact me at seamuscrow@hotmail.com
Thanks,
Jim

Dia Duit Heather,
Your reading your information from the same "O'Connell Booklet" that I am. Keep in mind that as much as the Ulster Genealogical Society believes this, unfortunately they were unable to come up with paper work to back it up. It may be a very strong assumption though.
Have you found been able to find anything else on Kate since your last posting?
Slan lait,
Jilly

Alice,
In my research I have Timothy Murphy (b.mid 1800's) of Edencurra married to Julia Cahalane. Timothy is my gg grand-uncle. It is noted that Julia Cahalane had a brother Daniel. Timothy and Julia had 10 children (their first born Margaret married Denis O'Connell).
The Murphy Edencurra farm was transfered to Denis and Margaret (Murphy) O'Connell after marriage. The Murphy family then moved to a farm in Inchafune (just down the hill from Edencurra).
You mentioned that the Cahalane's and Murphy's might be cousins, not surprising, many families of the area were connected twice. Would you share how you believe they are cousins? Thanks for any information you can provide.
edencurra@sbcglobal. net (please put "Murphy/Cahalane" in the subject line of the private email , thanks)
Jilly

Alice,
I know your post is old but I hope you refer back to you posting.
I am of the Murphy decedents of Edencurra/Inchafune. I do have the O'Connell genealogy done by John O'Connell of PA and the Cahalanes are mentioned. If you wish to contact me for the information I have on the Cahalane, O'Connell and Murphy you may do so at edencurra @ sbcglobal.net (no space). Please put in the "Re" Cahalane O'Connell Genealogy.
