MOLINE, Ill. - Frank James Cahalan, 50, formerly of Moline, Ill., died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006 as a result of a single car accident in Arizona.

Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, Ill. Memorials may be made to the family for the establishment of an educational fund for his children.

Mr. Cahalan was born May 3, 1955, in Davenport to Jim and Delores Peot Cahalan. He married Teri Jo Delf July 18, 1981, in Moline.

Frank was recently employed at Master Kraft Cabinets as a general contractor in Arizona. Prior to that, he was a self-employed concrete and general contractor for 30 years in Moline.

Mr. Cahalan was an avid Moline sports fan. While at Moline High School, he participated in football and track. He was very involved as a coach with Dad's Club sports including softball, baseball, and basketball. He was also involved in Moline City League Basketball. He enjoyed following his daughter and nieces and nephews in their sports and other activities.

Frank was a devoted husband and father who loved his family very much and had a soft spot for animals.

Survivors include his wife Teri, of Muscatine; daughter, Kelly Jo Cahalan, of Iowa City; son, Connor Cahalan, Arizona; siblings, Audrey Gorsuch and Don Remsgard, Zion, Ill., Barbara and Fred Smith, Hampton, Ill., John and Sandy Cahalan, Geneseo, Ill., Lori King, Columbus Junction, Kathy and John Pilichowski, Moline, Jane and Rick Forest, Colona, Ill., Jim and Sue Cahalan, Wheaton, Ill., Bob and Nancy Cahalan, Highland, Ill.; a large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles; his Delf family in-laws as well as many long-time friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
