I don't think we have talked before. I have not done much with this branch of my family yet. Guess we are cousins! If you look at my family tree, I have a picture of Mahala Cahala and her husband Norman Roy. My mother is a Roy. My uncle continues to work on this line of the family, as he has done for many, many years. We are supposed to get together next week to discuss. I will let you know if he comes up with anything new.

Your family line is a lot of William Henry Cahalas! Do you have any idea what country the descendants originated from?

Good talking to you.

Hi, Tina, yes, we are cousins. Norm is about the same age as I am, maybe a day or two more, but we've been talking for many years now.
The Cahala, Cahalens, Kahaly, Cahaley, Cohaley family is definiely from Ireland. James Cahalens and Rachel Howel (sic) were married in Salem, N.J. in 1761 on the Kings bond of 500 pounds. I have the document. William married Elizabeth Estlack in about 1792... I'll have to find it, and had MANY children including our William who married Mary Ann Kaufman. They gave birth to William Henry Cahala (1848).
Yes, My father was William Henry Cahala, and my son Bill, is also William Henry Cahala. Norman can fill you in on a lot. Pay especial attention to all the wonderful photos he has. I am JEALOUS!!! HA!
