This is like eight years after the fact, but I do have a great great grandfather named William Edward Caiger 1808-1872, born in Sussex England & died in Toronto Canada.
He had 16 children by two wives: Martha Unknown, mother of Thomas, George, William, Augusta, Charles, Martha, Robert,and Eliza Gegg, mother of Mary Jane, William Edward, Hannah, Jane, Thomas, Elizabeth, Augusta, James, Frances, yes! duplicated names.
Perhaps Edmund Caiger who died 1796 is grandfather to William Edward Caiger? or a cousin? I have reached a dead-end as far as William Edward's ancestry is concerned, I don't know the surname of his first wife Martha, she likely died about 1849.
