My maternal grandparents were Pauline Thelma Cagle (after she married, Perry) & Paul Alphonse Perry. Per my grandmother Pauline’s notes to me:
Pauline Thelma Cagle (after she married, Perry) was born November 8, 1915 in Big Bay, Southern Illinois. She was named after the woman who helped deliver her. Her siblings were Guy Cagle, Doc Cagle, Blanche Cagle & Louis Cagle. I don’t have dates for them. She grew up in Metropolis, Illinois. She met her husband, Paul A. Perry, while he was working at a CCC Camp in Metropolis. He was from Decatur, Illinois and they moved there when they married. He was a switchman for the railroad in the early years of their marriage. After his service as a marine in WWII, they relocated to Chicago, then Phoenix, and finally settled in Southern California as he looked for work. He eventually became a plumber in Chino, CA where they settled and raised their two children Janet Ruth Perry (my mother) and Joseph R. Perry.
Pauline Thelma Cagle’s parents were Mary Alice Watson (after she married, Cagle) and Eugene E. Cagle. They met when Mary worked for Eugene’s family as a cook. They settled in Metropolis, Illinois to raise their family.
Eugene E. Cagle’s parents were Elizabeth Cagle (I think after marriage) & William Tolen Cagle (known as Buck I believe). William was born on January 13, around 1879. They were from Paris, Tennessee and settled in Pope County, Southern Illinois.
This is all I have. Does anyone have an connection to these names that would add to the family tree I am creating for my children?
