The 1860 census omits Charley Kouts, changes the spelling to Kekey, substitutes Caroline for Catherine and adds children Anna, 8, and Frederick, 6.
By 1870 the name is Kaka and place of origin of those previously shown Germany is Brunswick. By 1880 the family had scattered )Augustus died 1877) and Henry was living in Cicero with his 2nd wife Elizabeth. He was listed as a teamster. Henry died July 26, 1892 and is buried in the Cicero Cemetery.
In the 1910 census Lena (listed as Colena) showed her father "born at sea".
Were you in touch with her - Lena Caca Kellar? I met her once and understood that she spent her last years in Tipton, Indiana.
My line comes through Charles, the eldest child, and we understood that William's son William left for the west (possibly Seattle) and was heard from. A William Caca is buried at Crownland Cemetery, Noblesville, showing a death date of Oct. 18, 1921. I assumed this was Wm., Sr, your ancestor. I hope this is of interest. I wonder how William from the northeast corner of the county met Nettie, from the southwest corner.
If I can get your e-mail address perhaps we can continue privately.
