Hi, my hope is that someone still checks this page. My name is Marisol Feliciano Primario, my great grandmother on my mother's side was Dionisia Caban from San Sebasian and from what i am told from my mother when she married into the Rodriguez family moved to Voladoras Moca. I have been searching through ancestry.com for about 3 yrs now and got as far back as my great great grandmother. Juana Caban Y Soto De Lopes b: abt 1886 in Puerto Rico. If anyone here has any info on this family. Let me know, I can be found on ancestry, Mprimario1 or mprimario@gmail.com. As mentioned here, the Caban's in my family including myself, very white complexion, all red haired or blond with blue, green or hazel eyes.

Marisol....Saludos, sorry to say I have no additional information to further advance your quest. To obtain more family data you will have to go for Church records, which usually run through the 1700's. Earlier records have been lost due to hurricanes and fires .Moca I believe is the epicenter were it all began. The complexion description you give, matches what are Cabán features. The 1899 US assessment of PR after the invasion, states that even though most persons describe themselves as white, stateside personnel see them as reddish white(like native American Indians), what they fail to acknowledge is Moorish influence. When the Spaniards arrived in America they had just rid themselves of 800 years of Arab domination and mixed breeding. most of the Cabáns do not share that color features. Always keep in mind that puertorricans emerge from Spaniards, Black and Taino breeding. My next comment might be biased, but truth is that most of the Cabáns I know share one important feature; they are good persons, that share their burden of being productive individuals that work to make life better for all. My email is ercaban@hotmail.com,feel free to write or contact me I am also in Facebook as Eduardo R. Cabán
