My grandmother was Lucy Caball (b. 7 Oct 1888 - Tralee, Ireland) Her mother was Mary Anne Fitzpatrick (b.1851) and her father was Edward W. Caball b.1839). I am looking for my Irish relatives!

Hi,
Did you manage to find the Caballs of Tralee? o I am Judith Caball born in Tralee in 1967 and related to Lucy Caball mentioned in your mail. I realise its been 5 years but I only just stumbled across your posting now.

My father Edward nmn Caball, his father was George Caball who was the only brother who left Ireland to come to the US. In the US, cannot find any Caball's other than my brothers and sister. Write back please. Thank you, Mary Bush

Hi,
Sorry for the delay. My grandfather was Jim Caball (died last year in Tralee) and George was his Uncle. Jim's father was Arthur who remained in Tralee and married my great grandmother. The 1901 census has been released online in Ireland recently and I can now see Mary Anne (aged 50), George, Cecelia and Lucy who were not around for the 1911 census as they had imigrated to America. I assume Mary Anne was your great grandmother. Is that correct? I would love to hear more about they managed to get to America as it was a brave step for a women to take on her own in those days with 3 children.
Regards,
Judith Caball

Suggestion: Look in Irish phone books of the 1970s and 1980s.
I believe a Caball operated a bicycle shop, but I forget the town. I caught the name in an Irish phone book, perhaps in the area of Cork or Dublin.
