I think this information will come in handy when learning about the Cabado family tree because our family tree is very complicated.
Our last name was not always Cabado it started out Cabada but one of our ancestors in Spain was called to war so he changed his last name to Cabado and fled to Cuba. There he married a Cuban woman but didn't stay with her very long.

Hello, My name is Susana Cabado and I live in Spain. The Cabado's come from the Galician area. According to another family story, the name was originally Cabedi and it belonged to a roman soldier that was moved here. Never heard about Cabados going to Cuba, but I know my father's aunts migrated to Argentina (early years of XX century) and they are believed to start that branch.

Hi
My name is Maria Sabatino Cabardo my maiden name is Sabatino but I married a Cabardo. Is this the same is Cabado? He is from the Philippines and his great grandfather was a Spaniard. He's not sure if it was the Galician area, he thought the great=grandfather was from Madrid. I am actually Italian so I don't know about Spanish names. If Cabado and Cabardo are the same name I would be interested in finding some more information on the family name for my husband.

Thanks for any info you can share.

That was my grandfather, he was born in Lugo Spain and did leave as a young adult because of war and also the last namewas Cabada and changed it to leave the country. He fell in love with my grand mother in Cuba and they lived happily ever after till they died of old age. They had four kids the youngest Manuel Rolando Cabado was my dad.

I actually do not believe Cabado & Cabardo come from the same line. Like a previous poster I've also heard that the last name might have been changed from Cabada or Cabadi, which was a Roman soldier who moved to Spain to avoid the war going on at the time.

My great grandfather's migration to Cuba must have been around 1915ish. We know that his brother Antonio Cabado migrated to Argentina as well. If you find anymore information please let me know. I feel like we might be distant relatives. It's very coincidental that we both have heard the same story about the Roman Soldier fleeing the war & moving to Spain.
