I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone with information about Elizabeth Byrnes, who married Martin Madigan and had a son named Raymond (1902-1966). I think they lived in CT.

Do you know where your Elizabeth might have been born? I am researching the Byrne(s) family of Waterford. My g-grandmother was born there and emigrated to the U.S. (New York). The time frame of her sister Elizabeth's birth fits with your Elizabeth.

Mary, Thank you for responding to my query. What I know about "my" Elizabeth Byrnes (my great-grandmother) is that she was born in Ireland in 1874. Her parents were John and Mary Byrnes. Elizabeth married Martin Madigan in Hartford, Ct. c.1900. She died of typhoid fever on 12/31/03. She had one child, Raymond (1902-1966). Does any of this connect with "your" Byrnes? Mark: It doesn't look like we connect, unfortunately. The Elizabeth Byrnes I have was born in 1871, daughter of William Byrne and Ellen (O)'Brien. Unless of course John Byrne and William Byrne were related! If we keep digging, you never know what might turn up!

Wouldn't have a Bridget Cassidy b.abt 1820's, came from Ireland, that Married a Byrnes. Might have married in the Litchfield, Ct area. Came to the States around the late 1840's, early 1850's. Was living in Hartford in 1899, not sure of husbands name. Any Connection???

Possible connection. I have a photo of my aunt Irene Broadhurst taken in 1917 in Norwich CT, with a boy about 12 or so identified on the back of the photo as Raymond D Byrnes. I know the Byrnes were friends of my family in that era. Contact me for the photo agbroadhurst@hotmail.com
