Hi there
I have been looking regularly (almost) daily on this site for information on Byrne's from Co Donegal I've had no reply and was just beginning to lose hope.
I have the following info - hope you can help!
My ggrandfather was Andrew Byrne born in Ballybofe Co Donegal in 1885. His father was Patrick (Paddy Byrne) born 1860, and his father was Mark Byrne who died at the great age of 108.
Andy my great grandfather was kicked out of his house by his father at the age of 14, and headed to Scotland.
Andy had a brother Patrick who was a funeral director, and something else to do with cattle. He also had 3 sisters that I know of who are Cathy, Mary and Annie who immigrated to Philadelphia.
The Byrne's home in Ballybofe was named Taucholart (meaning hard rock).
Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
