Do you have a James D. Byrne from Massachusetts in your family line? This person would have been born sometime between 1920 and 1930. The reason I ask is because my father-in-law had a picture of his US Marines Platoon, #328 taken in June 1943. There is a signature of a James D. Byrne of Massachusetts listed on the back of the photo. My father-in-law was born in 1924 so this James D. Byrne would be born around that time. If you find that the dates fit as well as your James Byrne being a US Marine during the 1940's, let me know and I'll forward a copy of this picture via e-mail.
thanks,

Sorry, no Byrne form Mass- our Byrne's came from Ireland in 1912 and stayed as far as I can tell in the New York area.

We have a Bennett in USMC on 1944 - WWII

Thanks for the note
Ellen
