1880 WI census (Dane County, Town on Oregon)lists a Thomas & Bridget Byrne with a niece & nephew living with them. Trying to find out more about them & their niece, Ellen Mullen (age 14). She married a Philip Kearns from Benton, WI & they moved to Rosemount, MN. Ellen was my husband's grandmother. Carol Mullen

I found in the 1880 census that an Ellen (14)& John Mullen (11)were living with the Byrnes (their aunt & uncle) in WI.
Ellen has been a mystery to me. She married a Philip Kearns from the same area in WI & they moved to MN & had 10 or 12 children. My father in law would have been the eldest.
I'd like to know more about Ellen's family..how were the Byrnes related? Did they come from Ireland, too & from what area. If you are familiar with them, I'd like to hear more. Thanks for getting in touch. Carol
