I do not know very much about my Byrd family. Thomas Josiah Dalton had a brother, Andrew J. Dalton who married a Rachel Margaret Byrd. She was born in Black Mountain. I assume Rachel and Mary Ann Byrd are related but haven't yet find a connection. I believe Mary Ann was married once before to a Freshower. Right now I have Benjamin Bird/Byrd and Mary Cagle as Mary Ann's parents, but I am not sure if that is accurate. I ran into confusing information beyond Benjamin so I took them off because I want to start over at that point carefully. I had seen the name Bright Byrd. Is yours originally from Alabama? All I know about Mary Ann is that she lived in Mcdowell County, NC where a lot of Daltons lived too. I got info from Ancestry that she was born in Mcdowell but doubt that is correct.
I just had a thought. Would you happen to have any photos of your Byrd Family from the 1800's? I have a picture of Mary Ann and I am curious to see if there is any resemblance.
