DODGE, Deloris "Tink" 78, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Mercy St. John Center. Deloris was born November 4, 1931 in Nashville, Tennessee, the daughter of Arthur Gardner and Bessie (Cox) Byrd. Deloris attended Springfield, Ohio City Schools.
She retired from the Mueller Residential Center in 1994, as a residential counselor.
She attended the Church of Jesus Family Worship Center until failing health. Deloris enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and crocheting.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda (Al) Howard; three sons, Lamar (Marva) Dodge, Cassell Dodge, Keith (Diane) Dodge, of Columbus, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Thea Dodge and a foster son, Thomas (Donna) Beal of Enon, Ohio; Eleven (11) grandchildren, with a special granddaughter Trista Jordan; twelve (12) great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Deloris was preceded in death by a son, Michael C. Dodge; a daughter, Karen A. Thornton; her husband of thirty-five years, Jessee L. Dodge and a special aunt Fannie Mayberry.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in Trydestone Missionary Baptist Church, 1710 Damascus Avenue. Funeral services will follow in the church at 1 p.m. Burial in Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements provided by the Robert C. Henry Funeral Home.
