Gore's Directory of Liverpool and Envirions 1853 - Janet Beausire, Ladies Seminary, Brighton House, Wallasey; Robert Beausire, Bookeeper at same. I was puzzled by Catherine being born in Liverpool, was she perhaps a sister in law of one of Robert's wives? I have a copy of Joseph's will and you will find a very lengthy obituary in the "Birkenhead and Cheshire Advertiser" for 12th January 1907. A Lieut Beausire, Lowenstein's Chasseurs, was wounded at St Lucia between 20/7 and 5/10 1796. If you input this regiment into "Google" you will find the very interesting paper by Curtis Jacobs entitled "The role of St Lucia during the Brigand's War 1794-1796. This gives some information about this regiment which could confirm your thoughts about the origins of Joseph from Metz.

I personally think Catherine (Parker) was Roberts sister. The childrens names - Isabella & Lydia - both fit my relatives, and my gradfather, one of Isabellas was called George Beausire. I agree it is odd her being born in Liverpool but its also odd they the family decamped to England as I understand it around 1810.
I thought the Beausire from Lowensteins Chasseurs who was wounded was hurt on St Vincent? I will trace the Google connection you gave me. However the fact that Joseph came from Metz was a lead from an entirely different source, a Frenchman who also has strong links to the West Indies. The Parkers incidentally are almost certainly a union between a British navel man and a French? woman, with the children born on Martinique.

Do you have any more info on Joseph?
Is this the Joseph who married Fanny Rust in 1865 and had quite a no. children. Living in Birkenhead / Wirral 1871-1901 & described as South American merchant?
I am researching the Rusts & believe Fanny may have been my GGG G-F' niece.

Hi,
I am presently researching Joshua Alexander Stevens who was born in Antigua about 1919 and was wondering whether you have any information on this individual and his ancestry?
Please advise.
Thank you.

Sorry but mine was early 1800s. I guess from about 1800 to say about 1860/70.
Maybe yours is a descendant of mine?
