I purchased a lot of Butts family photos at an antique store (Oakland, OR). The photos are all very well labelled (such as "John Doe, son of John Sr Doe and Jane (Smith) Doe", so it looks like some relative put alot of effort into preserving the identity of the family.

I am NOT related, and am trying to get these to someone who is related and wants the originals.

The photos seem to all be of the family of Rufus M Butts (1836-1874). The photos below in order are:

1 and 5. His wife Celia Minerva (Hastings) Butts (1836-1923)

Their children:

2. William Marion Butts (1857-1921)
3 and 4. Esther "Etta" (Butts) Sowle (1859-1901)
6. Etta's husband Bert Sowle
7 and 8. Frances Maria (Butts) Barker / Moore (1867-1907)
9. Nancy Irene "Irene" (Butts) Duncan (1855-1918)
10. John Frances Butts (1861-1935)

There are many more photos--photos I have not attached are: Group shot of Frances, Nellie and Etta, 2 group shots of Nancy, Etta, Nellie and Frances, Etta's daughter Nellie Gertrude Sowle, Frances' son Fred Hastings Moore, John's wife Helen (Goodrich) and their children Helen, Naomi and Hazel. Irene's children Ilarene "Babe", Adelaide "Addie" Frances "Fanny", and Margaret "Maggie" Duncan. Plus some groupd shots of the families including one very large one with about 4 generations.
