We have talked before and I have a little more info on my James or William Butler brick wall. My DNA beginning with 12 is Ulster Scots Irish from Nothern Ireland. These protestant Scots left Ireland in the 1700s due to religious persecution. They were Presbyterian by faith and since the requirements made it a little harder to become a Pres. minister than a Baptist, many became Baptist in order to spread the word. These were my Butlers. (Baptist preachers) Ulster Scots were recognized by Gen Washington as the best fighters in Rev. war. The Potato Famine Irish were Catholic and came a century later. My James or William or John could be found in Va. living by the Walkers, but I have not been there to look at records. From there to N.C. to Ga. to Ky, Mo, Tx. Sheila Butler Ely
