ZANESVILLE: Grayce E. Burkart, 93, of Zanesville, Ohio (Muskingum County) died at 10:00 P.M. Friday, July 4, 2014 at Willow Haven Care Center.
She was born March 31, 1921, in Zanesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harry E. and Hazel M. Huhn Stanbery. She attended Lash High School.
She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Timber Run Grange and the Finley Chapel Methodist church Ladies Aid Society.
She had worked for the Community Sales Barn as a cook. She was also employed by the Sho-Wi Restaurant.
Surviving are a son, William David (Sandra) Burkart of Zanesville, Ohio; a daughter, Nancy Kay Short of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren, Barb Miller, Paula (Greg) Hall, Pam (Alan) Moore, Kim (Doug) Bobst, and Mike (Carla) Short; five great grandchildren, Alex, Sarah, Logan, Kayla, and Ryan; and three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Burkart, who died March 1, 2007; and two brothers, Gene and Warren Stanbery.
No calling hours will be observed.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville, Ohio at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 8, 2014. BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, was entrusted with all arrangements.
