i am the grat grand child of george and dorothy bumstead late of bumstead house at marsdon brisbane queensland australia..so if anyone knows that they are related i would love to here from you thanks....i was told by my grand father that they came over from england on the mayflower....regards darrin bumstead

Darrin, I am a Bumstead and our ancestors came to the US in 1640 from Rattlesden Suffolk England. Thomas Bumstead and his wife Susannah Chambers were my direct line. His father was Thomas, and his father was William Bumstead. I have the line back to about 1530. Hoping to hear from you. Rattlesden seems to be the ancestral home of the Bumsteads. cbumstead@uniteone.net

The Mayflower sailed to America, I never heard of it sailing to Australia.
We have Bumsteds in our tree. All came from Sussex England
