The Bumstead family was centered in Mass.
Springfield area, since about 1745 or so.
There was a large number of them in the Monson
, Wilbraham townships, Hampden County around
the middle 1700's. I suspect that you will
find them at one of those locations. Stay
in touch and i will share what I have with
you. I have considerable information on the
family. There was a branch of the Bumsteads
that went to the Kansas area, and they came
through Josiah Bumstead. Longmeadow, Mass.,
is another place you might want to look.

Arnold, his son Merrill Arnold, Merrils wife all came down from Monson, Wilbraham Mass in the late 1800s. They settled in Austell Georgia where my grandfather was born William Merrill, he married there and had a son Charles Marion, and that son had me Charles Merrill. There are several branches of Bumsteads in Georgia, but all are just limbs from the same tree. About which individuals do you wish to know. The Arnold (patriarch) married Elmina Wood, and her brother Sylvester Wood had a textile mill in Austell
