I was just in touch with a Howard Buckles. In his e-mail he had told me that you had done extensive research on the Buckles family in williamsburg County, South Carolina and that you, as I, think that they were originally Buchholtz's from Prussia. My ggg-grandparents were John W. and Margret A. Buckles from Williamsburg County, South Carolina. John W. was born around 1819 in South Carolina. Although I know from the 1860 Federal census that my ggg-grandparents had 4 children in the home, I am only aware of three girls (Rebecca, Idella, Frances) that grew to adulthood and helped to raise my grandmother. I know nothing about them other than their names, where they lived, and where they are buried. My mother and her siblings knew nothing about any Buckles relatives. I know that the relatives are out there somewhere if I can only find a connection with another Buckles family.
