One more William to throw into the pot. William D. Buchanan was born in Pennsylvania about 1830. According to the cemetery records of Union county Oregon he was married to Ellen Jane Cullen. Daughter Mary Josephine was born 26 FEb 1853 in Iowa. They could of possible lived in Tama county. I found a census that the people only had a first inital, so I think I have the right group. In 1860, Tama county Iowa, Mary J. was born in Iowa. in 1870 census of Union county Oregon, she was born in Indiana. I found a marriage record in Wabash county Indiana that has a William D. Buchanan marrying a Ellen J. Buchanan 21 Mar 1850. Did they make a mistake or was she married twice? Is it even the right one? I don't at this time were William and Ellen are buried or where they died. They did live for a time in Harney county Oregon in Township of Buchanan. Any help on this family would be appreciated.
