The following is the text of a reply to an inquiry to 'La Societe Francaise de St. Louis' (or the French Society of St. Louis) regarding the Buatte family history. It is a translation of French, and is signed and dated May 27, 1963, by Jacques C. Chicoineau of La Societe.
Jacques DU BUAT, Esquire, Lord and Patron of Bazoches in Thimerais, living at the said place of Bazoches, Diocese or Sees, Election of Mortagne and Generality of Alencon, married on May 5th, 1711, Gilenne Madelene MALARD, daughter of Jacques Malard, Esquire, Sir du Jardin, and Catherine Bouchard. From that marriage, among other children was born Jacques du Buat-de Bazoches, baptized on April 10th, 1713, and admited as Page of the King, in the big, Stable, on September 10th, 1731, according the titles produced in that purpose, which justify that the said Lord of Bazoches, his father, was son of
Nicolas du Buat, Esquire, Lord of Bazoches, and Barbe Moulin, his wife, who he married on February 7th, 1682. That the said Nicolas had for father and mother, Nicolas du Buat, Esquire, Lord of Bazoches and Gaillon, Ordinary nobleman of the Chamber of the king, and Genevieve Le Normand, his wife, married on June 21th, 1637 and daughter of Silvestre Le Normand, Councilor of the King, Master of the ordinary Requests of his mansion, and Adrienne L'Hermite. That the said Sir of Gaillon was son of Noble Lord.
Nicolas du Buat, Lord of Bazoches, Migergon and Medavi, named Baron Du Lac, in the settlement of his wedding with Renee De Grognaux, on October 28th, 1604, the said Nocolas son of Noble Lord.
Francois du Buat, Lord of the said places and Gaillon, and of Lucrece de Dambrai, who he married on January 6th, 1586, daughter of the high and powerful Lord Nicolas de Dambrai, Knight, Lord and Baron of Laigle, and Jeanne Godefoix. That the said Francois du Buat, was member of the Company of Charles de Coffe. Marshal of France who he was serving in that quality at the Camp of La Rochelle, in the year 1573, and that he had as father and mother,
Jacques du Buat, Esquire, Lord of Moncellain, living with Marie de la Tour, his wife, before the year 1542.
