I'll save the interesting information about the Buatte family until the end of this post.
My Problem-
I've traced my ancestry to an Angelique Buatte born 1849 in Kaskaskia, Illinois. I think her father was Henry Buatte (who (I think) changed his birth date along with his wife II guess to avoid the Civil War (I don't blame him)). I'm not sure who the father of Henry Buatte is. I think it is one of the kids of Louis Buyat.
My Question-
Does anybody know who the father of Henry Buatte is? I would greatly appreciate it.
Interesting information-
Also if your interested I found in the book "History of Kaskaskia" (a book on wikipedia listed under Kaskaskia) information that a bell was presented to Louis Buyat from the French King to display in the local Catholic Church in Kaskaskia. One day I was watching a TV show on the History Channel about "how states got their shapes" (just type it in on youtube to watch) and in the show they traveled to Kaskaskia went to the town church and talked about the bell and how it was older than the Liberty Bell. It looked like it also had a crack on it. (they don't talk about Louis but I'm pretty sure it is the bell he brought over)
