YOUNGSTOWN – There will be a funeral service at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017 at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home for George C. Bruss, 72, who passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 18, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Oct. 20, 1944, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) the son Gilbert D. Sr. and Helen (Viola) Ritter.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
George was the owner of P.J. Auto Sales and was also a photographer at JC Penney.
He was an impeccable dresser. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football and baseball and was an avid Youngstown State University, San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Indians fan.
He will always be remembered lovingly by his wife, the former Perverlyn Pagan of Youngstown; seven children, Terri Christoff of Campbell, Ohio, Heather Brinkle of Florida, Stephen Bruss of Canton, OH, Becky Bruss of Canton, Lloyd Fussneker of Youngstown, Amy Bruss of Youngstown, and Angelina (Jesus) Cuevas of Youngstown; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jenith May Carroll of Cortland and Agnes Marie Caldwell of Youngstown; nieces Carol Ann Bruss-Reed and Deborah Kuch; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by son George Gilbert Bruss; three brothers, Melvin, Donald and Walter Bruss; and sister Peggy Bruss Kuch.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, Aug. 23, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman,OH.
Interment will take place at Lake Park Cemetery, where full military honors for George’s dedicated service to our country, will be provided by the great men of V.F.W. Post 9571 of Ellsworth, Ohio.
