My grandmother's first husband was Cesare Brusa from Italy. They were married in 1918 when my grandmother was 20 and Cesare was 40 years old. They were married in Waterbury, Vermont and had 2 sons. Cesare was in the monument business after his arrival in Vermont in 1918 from Italy. The story that was handed down in the family is that he was a Roman Catholic Priest in Italy during his early years.
He was only married to my grandmother for
2-3 years when he died at the age of 42 from Pulmonary Tuberculosis and he is buried in Waterbury, Vermont. My grandmother, Anna Peduzzi, remarried and my mother was born later. I am still close to my Brusa cousins in the Worcester, MA area, they are the grandchildren of Cesare.
