I am still on the hunt for my grandmother who was called "Blackfoot". She was born somewhere around the Virginia or West Virginia area. She married Daniel Lightfoot on 21 DEC 1820 in Wayne County Ohio. He was born in Maryland, so he had to come through that area and picked her up on his way to Ohio.
She may have died giving birth to Maria/Issaru. Can not find any death record. her daughter when we grew up was known as Morning Star.to our family. Later after research, i had found her name to be Rebecca. But we knew she was Blackfoot.
Daniel would have went through these counties to go to Ohio. Next to Maryland are the Coastal counties of Fairfax and Prince William. Next is the Piedmont counties of Virginia that are Loudon and Faquier. And then the Coastal mountian counties of Virginia of Fredrick,Clark,Warren and Shenandoah. But the coastal counties are so far over, so I doubt if he went that far west.
So, I hope I can connect with some Piedmont counties or Coastal counties of Virginia with some Tutelo/Monacan/Catawba Brown families.
* Update, I talked to man who is Catawba, and he sure thought her first name could be "Issaw" on their wedding certf. Which the word Issaw means Catawba.
