I am researching my George Brown Family in
Kentucky. I got off on a tangent researching George
Parke Brown, son of William Brown and
Hannah Street from the
Virginia line. I found some interesting stuff about him. I Googled him and came up with some biographies. It seems that he was a very prominent lawyer in Talladega,
Ala. He married a Margaret
Chilton, the daughter of his legal associate William
Parrish Chilton. After George's death, Margaret
Chilton Brown remarried to an unknown
Barkley. He owned a lot of property which he left solely to his wife Margaret. They had a daughter Margaret who married a William F. Perry. Perry joined the Confederate
Army and was discharged with the rank of Brigadier General.
George and Margaret had other children, Ellen, George
Park JR, and Thomas C.
I have compiled this information into a Word doc which I will send to you if you want it. This proves that George
Parke Brown was not “my” George Brown whose parents migrated to
KY with the
Maryland Catholics. He married Juliet Ann
Lush in 1836 as proven by their marriage bond and license in my possession. George and Juliet subsequently moved to
LaRue,
Hart and
Grayson Counties in
Kentucky. They disappear from the census records after 1880 in
Hart County.
