Gordon, it occurred to me that I should give you as much as I know on the children of Johann Brosch and Henrietta Blaze born BEFORE 1900, so you might be able to find the family in the census. Here are all the children, and their approximate birth year, except for Emil, Johann, and Lena, for whom I have death records and can give exact dates:

Johann, Nov 03 1890 to June 1986;
Heinrich, 1891 to ?;
Johanna, 1893 to ?;
Wilhelm, born and died 1895;
Clara, 1897 to 2002 (My Aunt Marion found her living in a nursing home in Grass Valley, CA and spoke with her a couple years ago - that's how I know my grandmother's siblings);
Emil, 8 Dec 1899 to 1 Mar 1998;
Gustaf, 1901 to ?
Lena, 21 Oct 1903 to 27 Aug 1992.

So Gordon, you should be able to find Johann(John) Brosch or Brosh married to a Henrietta with the following children living in 1900: Johann or John, Jr - age 9; Heinrich, age 8 or 9; Johanna, age 6 or 7; Clara, 2 or 3; and Emil, less than 1 yr.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: If you can find descendants of Clara, ask about Johann and Henrietta's family bible; my Aunt claims to have seen it just after Henrietta's death in 1943, but hasn't seen it since. She thought that since Clara spoke the most fluent German that she may have inherited it and passed it on to her children (she had at least 2 sons and one daughter). Also, Clara married a man surnamed Jordan.
