AUSTINTOWN, OHIO – Mrs. Demeteris Yvonne Howard, 67, departed this life on June 16, 2013, at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.

Mrs. Howard was born May 11, 1946, in Berkeley, California, (Alameda County) a daughter of Howard and Nina Mae Maddox Broom Sr.

She graduate from Berkeley High School and she attended college.

Demeteris is a former member of the Greater Friendship Baptist Church. She loved bowling, arts, craft, traveling, shopping, cooking, and spending time with family.

She leaves to cherish her beloved memory, her husband, James, whom she married September of 1983; one son, Brandon Caldwell of Atlanta; a daughter, Nina Caldwell of Oakland, Calif.; one brother, Howard T. (Gerry) Broom Jr. of Oakland; two sisters, Ardella Price of Dallas and Dolores (Eddie) Hooker of Stockton, Calif.; three grandchildren, Charisma, Isaiah Caldwell and Nyla Harris; and a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Anthony Broom.
Services will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, Youngstown, Ohio.


Friends may call half hour prior to the services, from 12:30 to 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
