I was just given a photo of children/grandchildren of Dan and Nancy Emily Briles, Italy, Texas 1909. Dan and Nancy were my gggrandparents. Their son Oliver "Ol" Perry Briles was my ggrandfather and his daughter Elnora was my grandmother. Does anyone have any info. on this line of the family? I would greatly appreciate it?

I need imformation on BRILES FROM ITALY TEXAS. THE NAMES OF GREAT GRANDPARENTS LELA MABLE BRILES AND CISCERO H. BRILES . THEY ARE BURRIED AT ITALY TEXAS . I WOULD BE THANKFULL.

Here is some of the info. I have so far. I've been able to trace directly back 10-12 generations to Germany. If you give me your address, I'll be happy to send you a print out of what I have.
Cicero H. Briles was born in North Carolina 3/1878
He married Lila May Scarborough on 12/17/1899 in Ellis, Texas. She was born in Ellis, Texas 1/1882. I know that they had a son Robert but I don't have info. on any other children.
Cicero was the brother to my great grandfather Oliver "Ol" Perry Briles. His daughter, Elnora, was my grandmother.
Cicero's parents were Dan Briles Jr. b.9/26/1833 in NC
and Nancy Emily Sawyer. They were married 1/14/1856 in NC. I have a family picture taken in Italy, Tx. in front of a house. Cicero and Lila are in the photo as well as Nancy and several other family members. I've seen Cicero spelled two ways in records. Cicero and Ciscero. Do you know which is correct? Have you seen grave stones for these relatives? What is the name of the cemetery and where is it? My grandmother died in 1985 in Italy and is buried at Brandon Cemetery. Hope we can help each other. We also went to the cemetery in ITALY TEXAS saw both graves sites .The cemetery has no name and listed as not having name . .I seem to recall that the cemetery was vandelized years ago and lot of damage done. I don't have much info. about Nancy Emily Sawyer Briles. I have a couple of photos of her though. She and Daniel Eli Briles married 1/14/1856 in Randolph Co., N.C. They had at least three sons, Ciscero H., Oliver Perry (my great grandfather) and Enoch Elwood. I know that Ciscero and Oliver "Ol" , are buried in Italy, Texas. I don't know about Elwood. Elwood married Maggie Ora Porterfield and they had a son, Worthie Harwood (Jack) Briles. He married but I don't have his wife's name. They had a son named Worthie Elwood Briles. He married and had a daughter named Susan.
I hope this info. helps. Please let me know if you can fill in any blanks regarding other children of any of these people.

My husband's grandmother was Mallie Briles, the daughter of Cicero Briles. We found several Italy Texas newspaper clippings in his grandmother's things. I would like to share that information as well as compare notes with anyone researching this line. I realize that my reply is to a posting that is 7-8 years old.
