Looking for info on Julia Jackson and Stevens Bright.
Julia is my gr grandmother. She was first married or (partner) to Charles Weslesy Brown of West Virginia. Had two daughters with him, Dorothy Jean Brown(my grandmother) and Jennie/Jeannieor Jeananne Brown. Jennie(?) was given up for adoption before 1920. Dorothy was suppose to be adopted out but her adopt parents -to -be were killed in a car accident. She later ran away after being put in foster homes.
Julia married Stevens Bright and had two sons...Georgie Bright and Stevens Jr..both born in West Virginia....and three daughters...Mary, who married later and had many children but died of cancer(?). Believe she lived in Old Gahanna, Ohio. All the girls were born in West Virginia.
IN the 1930 census for Columbus, Ohio it lists Stevens as a laborer doing "odd jobs" and Julia a housewife. All the children were 2-9 yrs of age.
Julia's brother , Guy Jackson was living with his wife, Catherine, his brother James, who was 13 yrs old and my grandmother, Dorothy who was 19 working at the shoe factory. Guy was in the US Army and served in WW2. Guy is buried in Union Cemetery.
I have reason to believe Julia is buried in Circleville but not sure.
I'm very interested in this family. I have many un-answered questions. If this rings a bell please email me or post a response. I was born in Columbus but moved to Florida in the 70's. My grandmother never spoke about her childhood. Have many questions.
