CROOKSVILLE: William A. Briggs, 83 of Crooksville, Ohio (Perry County) died Thursday, September 13, 2012 at his home.
Born November 19, 1928 in Marion, Ohio to the late William M. and Geraldine Strose Briggs.
Mr. Briggs worked for the United States Postal Service; member of the Oakfield Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War.
Survived by his wife, Gladys Carr Briggs of the home; daughter, Peggy (Clarence) Liff, son, William A. (Audrey) Briggs, Jr. and daughter, Sharon (Bill) Henderson, all of Mt. Sterling, Ohio; step-daughter, Jan Deye of Blacklick, Ohio; four grandchildren, Cory Woods, Wesley Henderson, Justin Henderson and William A. Briggs, III and two great-grandchildren and one brother and one sister.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Calling hours will be held from 6pm-8pm on Monday, September 17, 2012 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Woodrum officiating.
Burial will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday at Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, Ohio.
