They moved the bones of Joseph Bridger because the plantation was being sold outside of the family and the church wanted to honor him because he was considered the "builder of the church" even though it's been determined that he didn't start the church, but rather responsible for having it finished. So the church decided to honor him by burying his remains inside the church.
