I'm not sure if you're still working on this search, but I am the granddaughter of the third (I believe) George Brey, who was married to Germaine Zimmer (also of Algoma, Wisconsin). I believe my mother, Nancy (Brey) Dietrich, would be the same generation as you!

From the records I have (written by Josepth L. Goessel), George Brey Sr was married to Mary Marik. George Brey was her SECOND husband--she was originally married to Mathias Goettinger.
