Thanks so much for the listing! I have finally confirmed my husband's great-grandparents, Alexander Bressette b. 1867 NY and Exorie Chouinard b. Canada 1862-1873?. They were enumerated in the 1900 Springfield MA Census. I have been unable to find them in the 1910 and the 1920 censuses. In 1930, they had settled in Cohoes, NY. I believe that Alexander's parents may be Frederick and Margaret Bressette enumerated in Plattsburg, NY in 1870. (Fred was also in Cohoes in 1910 and 1920). Most of the family were employed in the textile mills.

I am researching the Bressette name. My Ancestor Amelia/Melia Bressette married Henry Golden. I went to Springfield Mass and searched the indexes for Bressette names. These names are the deaths on record in Springfield Mass. I know some (brothers) are connected to Amelia Bressette who owned Saloons/Boarding houses in the Springfield Area when they came in the early 1900's from upstate NY, would love to hear from others who find connections. Plattsburgh — Carolyn M. Bressette, 57, of the Blake Road, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.

She was born in Willsboro, July 13, 1944, the daughter of Leo P. Sr. and Emily Mae (Riley) King.

Mrs. Bressette was not only a daughter, sister, grandmother and mother, most of all she was an honest and true friend.

She volunteered for a time at St. Vincent DePaul in Peru.

She enjoyed fishing and playing bingo.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Dorien L. and Patrick A. LaDuke Sr. of Mooers, Christine "Chrissie" and Brian D. Waite of Gansevoort and Sara J. and Robert G. Duval of Plattsburgh; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald H. Jr. and Melissa J. Bressette of Plattsburgh; six grandchildren, Jessica M. LaDuke and fiancé, John Juneau, Patrick A. LaDuke, Jr., Savannah L. Neuberger - Waite, Ryan R. Duval, Brandi M. Duval and Tyler J. Bressette; one great-grandson, Brady J. Juneau; her former spouse and friend, Donald H. Bressette Sr. of Keeseville; two brothers and one sister-in-law, John King of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Leo P. and Sylvia King of Keeseville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Harriet and Eugene Robare of Willsboro and Mary and Robert Hanley of Keeseville; and several nieces and nephews, relatives, and close friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; three brothers, Leonard King, Lewis King and William King; and sisters, Barbara Archer and Elizabeth Hart.

There will be no public calling hours. A gathering will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Sara Duval, on Blake Road in Plattsburgh.

Arrangements are with the Hamilton Funeral Home in Peru.

Looking for any info on Edward Bressette. His wife's name was Rogena Sarah Flinton. He was born in South Bend, IN and died in Kansas City, Missouri. The Bressette family married into the Chippewa Native American tribe.
His daughter Marie Josephine is my grandmother.

Looking for information on Melissa Bressett and her Children Mammie and Emma from Vermont

I am looking for information on my grandmother (Mammie) and her sister and mother ...........also any other siblings that she might have.

I have them listed in the 1900 Waterbury, Washington, Vermont census. Melissa (mother) was born in 1870 and was widowed. It says that she had 4 kids 3 which are living. Only showing Mammie b. 1895 and Emma born 1898. The spelling of the last name on this census is Bessett. In the 1910 Census I have Melissa married to a Davis (this is her 3rd marriage and there is no husband living at the household) Still in Waterbury Vermont. She does have Mammie and Emma with her still. The last name is spelled Bressett on this page. (this is also how mymother pronounced her mother's maiden name)
So..........any clues out there :)

muma was a smith and I heard the names of rose,who my sister ended up with the middle name from, and lily from my mother who has been interested in geneology for quite some time now.Margaret Smith was my grandmother. died 1970's Donna Kennison has info on some of the bressette's since muma married Edward,her grandfather as well.

Edward as far as I have been told was one of about a dozen. Call Lorraine(Ken's ex) in Hartland to see what she has about the family or wait until I can actually send and receive e-mail. As far as I know Edward Edwin Bressette is buried in Oxford and Donna can verify the date since she is a granddaughter and I am a grandson of his. Born Oct 2,1893 according to what my mom told me.

For awhile benjamin and Julia lived in mass and Rhode island, My grandmother, irene adeline bressette was born in rhode island 1/271899. In the early 1900's ben and julia ran a boarding house for a local mill in the norwich/ wauregan section of ct.
