I am looking for the maiden name of Anna S. Brendel (born 1870). Her Brendel husband may have been named Frederick. Their children, Frederick and Albert Edward were born in New York, near Buffalo. She had previously been married to a Williams, and after husband Brendel, married August Yeager. Any help with these lines is appreciated. I am primarily interested in the Brendel line from New York, but Anna's line, too. Thanks.

I have relatives who are also Brendels, however I don't see any direct connection other than that they also lived in Pennsylvania (Carbon County) and approximately the same dates. It is possible they were cousins however I have immigration records and I did not see others coming at the same time.

He appeared in many films at Fox in 1930's and did a string of shorts for Columbia in the 1940's as well as many TV shows. He was married to songstress Flo Bert / Brendel. Most of the records I found come from The Pennsylvania area, but Brendel moved to California in the late 1920's.

Mary Elizabeth Brendel was a sister to my great-grandmother, Ida Jane Brendel, who m. Louis R. Graves. Their mother was Mary Ann Crites, d/o Conrad Crites. My great-grandparents moved to San Bernardino, Cal in the early 1920's. I have lots of info on this family.
I do need info on Mary Elizabeth Brendel and John L. Dill.
I know that they had at least 5 children and may have lost some in infancy. Clennie Belle Dill m. W. T. Fortner and they are buried, Dexter, Mo. cemetery. Let me know how I can help you.

I found the gravesite of my great-uncle and and his wife buried in St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., MO. His surname was Arnold, but I believe his wife's surname was Brendel as they are buried with the Brendels. Some of the names are: Celeste P, John Sr. John Jr., Minnie, Henry J., Blanche I.

Hi, I am also looking for information on Christian Brendel and Maria Regina Pernert (daughter of Johann George Pernert of Krebes, Germany) They ( Christian & Maria) were married in Thossen, Saxony, Germany in a Lutheran Church.) Verona, Allegheny, pa puts her in right place for possible connection. There was a Henrietta (as best i can tell from trying to decipher) McClain b. in the 1840's whose sister's obit in abt 1919 refers to Henrietta as Mrs. H R Brendel. This same Henrietta also appears to have had a son Austin McClain Brendel who died in 1935 in Allegheny Co. He was married with children but I don't have those names at this moment. Any fit for you?

I am researching a Brendel family which lived in Hoboken from 1870's to 1948. George Peter, usually referred to as Peter, came as a sailor for the Hamburg-Amerika Lines, transporting immigrants from Hamburg. He married carolina Mussmann about 1886, in either Hoboken or Jersey City and raised a family of three, Philip, Frederick, Lena. George Peter was born and raised in Speyer, Bayern, Germany and his mother was living there at the time of her death in the early 1880's. supposedly this couple helped relatives from both the Brendel and Mussmann families to emigrate, mainly through Port of Baltimore. Would love to find extended cousins. Have several generations back in Speyer, Germany.

Yes, Otto Brendel was my grandfather, Harry's father. He disliked the name Otto and so everyone called him Bren. Theresa Wannag was his second or third wife, I am not sure. His first wife, my grandmother, died. I think she died during child birth but I am not sure. I have somewhere here information and family history about the Mackeys (my mothers family) and I think about the Brendels. I believe the Brendels were from Pennsylvania. Or my grandmother Brendel's maiden name was Miller.

most of you are certainly aware of the fact, that there are lots of spelling variants for Brendel.

For those who aren't, let me draw your attention for instance to the BRANDL message board at http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/board/rw/Surnames.Brandl But of course there are several more query boards and mailing lists for variant spellings out there.

My own family's name, BRANDL, goes back quite a long time. But when I dug out the father of my last known BRANDL ancestor, what a surprise: His name in the books was PRAENDL, born in about 1717.

Hi,

when searching for ancestors one has always to keep in mind all the different spelling variants. That's not different with people named Brendel or similar. You'll find such variants for instance with a search on the Ellis Island database (EIDB) at http://www.ellisislandrecords.org/ when selecting 'Alternative spellings...'

My own surname is btw Brandl, a surname of German origin. In English pronounciation this can easily become anything between Bendel, Brandel, Brendal etc. - not yet accounting for simple spelling errors.

What I would suggest for anyone researching a name like this is to post queries also to the variant surnames boards, like in particular the BRANDL board at http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/board/rw/Surnames.Brandl

Sure looks to me like someone has confused the two George BRINLEY/BRENDEL and have them married to the same woman. I descend from George BRENDEL. Eva Christina was born 9 Dec 1736. It shows, on the ship list, Johann Martin as being b Dec '37 (1837). Johann "Hans" Georg BRENDEL lived and died in Heidelberg Twp, Berks Co, PA so the York Co, PA records is not this George. My grandfather was named Frederick Brendel. He married Anna Paul. I don't know all of their children. They had 5 and 2 died before I was born. The other three were Alex, Margaret, and Joseph. John passed away in 1970 . Larry, the middle brother died around the time of WWII from complications suffered during WWI. John married Lillian De Sort and had two sons, John and Larry. I am one of Larry's children.

I have an Adam Brendel in my family tree. All I know of this man is that he emigrated from Bavaria, Germany on 4/7/1837 and arrived in NY 6/14/1837. He was married to a woman named Mary Haas at that time. While in Louisville, KY, Mary gave birth to their daughter (my gggrandmother) and Mary Haas apparently died shortly after. He remarried a lady named Mary Wintergerst and moved to Illinois where he is buried. I know nothing of his existance in Germany. If you think this may be the same one or possible a relative let me know. I do have his birthdate if needed.

I am helping my husbands family research their family history. There is a great great grandmother named Martha Emma Middlestadt Faust. She was born Feb 10th 1885 where ? She died in Goodrich, Michigan
but in a Flint Hospital after a long illness. We have the Funeral Rememberance Card. We also have one for Wm. Hugo Middlestadt believed to be her brother Born November 21, 1893 in Elk River, Minnesota. He died July 27, 1965 in Elk River, MN. Otto Brendel was born in Germany, probably in the vicinity of Unsleben, Bavaria, and immigrated to New Jersey in the 1920s - 1930s. He married Marie Blum (b. 24 Dec 1906, Unsleben, Germany - d. 19 Nov 1987, Whiting?, NJ). Otto and Marie had no children. Otto's birth date is likely similar to Marie's, and he died between 1948 - 1952 in NJ. He founded Brendel's Delicatessen in Keansburg, NJ.

Siblings of his wife Marie Blum are Joseph Blum, Monica Blum Frickel, and Antonie (Toni) Blum Boms. All four were born in Unsleben, Germany. It is unknown if Otto Brendel had brothers or sisters.
