Hi Steve. Many thanks for your E.Mail We have been looking at the name of Breading & tracing the Ancestors in our family. Our Breading seems to appear out of the blue!!! We have Charles John Breading B. around 1846 in Hartlepool, we have tried many combinations of the name but cannot find any records of his birth, the only thing we have is his birth cert with his fathers name on it which is the same name as his sons & is a Miller by trade, the only names who were nearest to breading in that area were some by the name of Breadin. but still not tie him into them. We know Charles knew some Breadings in London, & spelt this way from 1843 {in London}, We also noticed that many of the christian names repeated in the various clans which i found very interesting {but made it harder when sorting the who belonged th whom!!!!!!. hope to hear from you Kind regards Jim type. E.Mail james.type@ntlworld.com

Jim

I am in the Sussex (UK) clan of Breading's. I would love to hear from you.

The name 'Type' features in a number of the family names, although mainly in Devon where you have been excavating already.

Steve

I am in the Sussex clan of Breading's. My line goes back to Breeding's in Surrey in 1871. The name changed again in the 1891 census to Breeden and to Breading in 1901.

I would dearly love to hear from anyone who may be able to cast light on any links between the various clans.

Steve

My family name is Breading. It has been Breeding (1871) and Breeden (1891). The 1901 census is Breading. The family appear to have been from Charlwood, Surrey, England and spread out locally (within 20 miles) over the next 30 years.

Any other information will be gratefully received.

Steve

Hello!
I would like to know if this family is directly related with mine: the Breeden/Breedings, who originally came from England/Scotland and settled in Virginia. I have found a coat of arms for the family, I believe, but the name is spelled Bredin.
Any help?
Thanks Bettty
