I think that you will find that the Dolly living with George and Ann (nee Balsdon) was indeed their daughter. She was christened Dolly, not Dorothy. I understand that she married Thomas Shute in 1844 and after the birth of daughter Sarah in the spring of 1845 moved to London, Ontario where she had many more children and died on 17 October 1886.
