Yes, I am still around. Hello. Well, there is a Hugh Brandon in our genealogy. He was married to Henrietta Fike and probably moved to Cherokee Co. Alabama from Roane Co. TN before the 1850 census. Henrietta was my patrilineal great-great-grandfather's aunt (his mother's sister). Evidently this group of Fikes and Brandons left TN for Alabama together. Josiah Fike (father of Henrietta), Hugh Brandon, Henrietta, and my great-great-grandfather, Thomas J. Goddard (in his 20s), were found in the 1850 Alabama census. Also curiously enough, an Anna Brandon was listed in our gr-gr-grandfather's household in that census. I know of at least one son of Henrietta and Hugh (whose graves I have visited in Alabama, by the way), named William. He was a young confederate private killed in the Civil War. It is quite notable that the Brandons you mention keep turning up in States where our ancestors were also.
