My grandfather was Anton Brandl, son of Michael Sr., son of Joseph from Auburndale. My father was Martin and I am William. You can find my family tree posted on ancestry.com.

I am also looking for more information about Joseph, such as wife's name, dates of birth, death, etc., and of course the lineage before Joseph.

Theresia Schreiner is buried in the old Catholic Cemetary past the High School in Auburndale. The grave marker is quite worn as she died in 1887, only 5 years after coming to the states. My daughter and I made an etching of it this past summer and it is mostly in German. Haven't yet made any attempt at translating. My grandfather never really knew his mother as he was an infant when they came to America.

Theresia's parents were George and Theresia Weiner, but I have no birth or death dates on them. Would like more info if you have it.

The information I have found on Joseph Brandl is this:

Wife: Theresa Kercher? she was born in Austria
Born Abt. 1820 in Austria

Two children were listed Michael Sr and Anton (Born abt. 1850)

I found this on the internet on www.familytreemaker.genealogy.com

Haven't found any more on this yet to verify

We also made a trip out to the Pioneer's of St. Mary's Cemetery on Monday. Found Theresa Brandl' s Stone. There is a plaque there of all the people and there are a few more Brandl's. There is a Theresia Brandl and a Theresa Brandl (Schreiner), which would be Michael Sr. wife. The other one I am woundering if it could be Michael SR. daughter, because she married a Joseph Baierl, and there is his name listed also. There is a Emma Brandl, she could be the Emma of Michael Jr., as in my records she only lived a year.) and a Wilhelmina Brandl also. Also a Ignatius and Michael Schreiner, maybe brothers of Theresa?

I talked to a lady at St. Mary's Church that works in the office there and she said I could come out any time and look through the records. So I am looking to schedule a day to do this and see if I can find out any more information.

Now to explain how we are related Your Grandpa Anton is a brother to Michael Jr? Michael JR would have been my Grandpa Edwards dad. Does this make sense?

Also just out of Curiousity did your wife live out in Rudolph WI for a time when she was growing up? There was Donna Crotteau living up the road from my parents when I was growing up and she married a Brandl.

Donna - Thanks for the info. Theresia is the same I think as Theresa, as she would have been my Great Grandfather Michael Sr.'s wife. His father was Joseph Brandl born abt. 1820. Theresia's parents were George Schreiner and Theresa Weiner, although I don't have any dates or birthplaces for them.

Much of what I have learned comes from Marsha Brandl who's great grandfather was also Michael Jr., so obviously you two are more closely related. Don't know anything about the others that you mentioned, but if you find more in the St. Mary's records please share it with me.

Finally yes, the other Donna Brandl is indeed Donna Crotteau from Rudolph, and is my wife of almost 40 years. We lived in Wis. Rapids for a long time, then Wausau and now in Charlottesville, VA.
