I am a Brandal Descendant - going back to Joseph Brandal in Ohio. I don't know if we're related. Have just started tracing line.

Although I am a bit tardy to the scene. I may be able to help with the Joseph and Jacob Brandals. Or maybe you can answer a question for me.

My GGG-Grandfather is a Joseph Brandal (Brandle) born 12 April 1815 in PA died 24 Oct 1885 in Thompson, Seneca, OH. He married Mary Lepley 1 Jan 1839 and had at least 9 children, Christian, Jacob, Mary Ann, Eliza, Hannah, Catherine, Matilda, Josoph Jr. & Roena, Regina, Rachael or Reena (something like that)

Is this the same Joseph?

Hello Jane,

I've been studying my husband's Sherck family and related descendants, and it seems the Brandal family is connected to the Shercks through marriage several times. Brothers John Brandal and David Brandal married sisters Catherine and Magdalena Sherck, sisters to our ancestor, Matilda Sherck Bauer. Can I ask which pictures you have? I can help you identify the Jolleys. Let me hear from you first to make sure you're still online.

Thanks,
Melanie
