I am not a member of the Ancetry Group for Boyd - so hopefully this message will get to you.

You will need to do a direct tree back from yourself, though each of your
own generations - parents, Boyd grandparents, etc - until you get back to
the family of Richard Dawson Boyd.

There are quite a lot of Boyd families in County Antrim - so if someone says
that your Boyd family comes from County Antrim, you can't say that "your"
Boyd might connect to someone who is a a Boyd from the mid 1850's.

>From the 1994 IGI for the UK there is this entry:-

James BOYD (M)........................ B: 13 Jun 1848
B: 21 Mar 1962 NZEAL F#: 449750 @
Father: Richard Dawson BOYD Carnmoney, Antrim, Ireland
E: 14 Apr 1962 NZEAL
Mother: Mary CHISHOLM
SP: Pre-1970

It would be well worth you asking your local LDS Church centre if they can
get you Batch number 449750 to see what other family that has and IF THIS
TREE MAY CONNECT TO YOUR FAMILY.

While in the 1981 IGI for Ireland it has an entry for:-

Richard Dawson Boyd married Mary Chisholm on 4 March 1844 at Carnmoney,
County Antrim, Batch Number A458292 serial # 169

I am not sure if this is the FATHER or THE SON. You may be able to
determine that if you have the age when Margaret died in 1884.

I would like to hear form you, so I can include this family in the second
Volume of County Antrim Boyd families

Thank you
