Dear Cousins:
As these are the most common forenames used by Boyds, it is especially helpful if we include more than just the fore and surnames of our Ancestors in the subject line of our posts. Granted, Scottish naming convention will have many males or females in a line with the same names. However, not all will be closely enough related for us to make a connection based merely on the forename and surname, in most instances.
John Boyd is as common a name as John Smith. And just as difficult to research.
Please put a location and time frame in your subject line in order that we might better sort out what we are looking at, at a glance. In most instances, it is better to create your own message regarding one of these common names than to simply add a reply to a John, James, Robert, William post merely due to the first name being the same.
Yours Aye,
Lauren Boyd
great-granddaughter of John Young Boyd, born 1862, Ballymena, County Antrim, Ireland
