I am at a total brick wall on this one. Listed in the 1850 Stokes Co NC census is a Harrison Bowen age 36. He is married to Elizabeth Grigg and has 5 children at this point. This is all I have been able to figure out. Where did he come from before he got to NC, Stokes Co? Who are his parents? I have found something stating he was married in VA but that is all. Strong indications suggesting VA but I have no idea where to start. Any help much appreciated!
